Sweetie Bear was the first half of my senior project for my BFA in Illustration that I earned in May of 2025. Wanting to pursue my interest in manufacturing and surface design, I concepted Sweetie Bear; a school stationery collection that focuses on fun and cute characters while incorporating de-saturated primary color schemes. This collection was intended for Elementary-Grade Children.

Throughout this project; I did trend research and character designs, world building and concepting, manufacturing research, and created spec sheets.
Since graduating I’ve continued to build upon the world of Sweetie Bear, a land where candy grows freely like flowers; focusing more on the logistics of the world and what it would look like in different seasons. Most recently, I launched my Halloween Sweetie Bear stationery collection.

Sweetie bear Halloween
The halloween themed collection for Sweetie Bear required a lot more planning than I’d originally anticipated; I had to find answers to questions like in a world where candy are replacing local flora and fauna, what does the changing of the season in the fall look like? and What does halloween look like in Sweetie Bear’s world, where there is already candy redily available to children?

I also had to think about what products to focus on creating for, how to form another cohesive collection across theme and material, and how to add new colors to the existing palette without throwing off the artwork and existing ‘brand’.
I additionally made the decision to give the other 2 characters; Lolly Pup and Candy Bun, a bigger spotlight and explore their personalities a bit more in this collection drop.
