Emerald Park Farm was a project where I digitized a hand-carved wooden sign that had been in my client’s family for generations. The client wanted to have something similar to the original sign, with a few additional text and image elements, such as incorporating a family of deer and text saying ‘established 1907’. This was a challenging project that required me to try and find a balance between smoothing out the original linework to make the production of the sign’s artwork go smoothly and keeping the original spirit/personality of the sign. One of the hardest parts was trying to use the existing letters in the sign to try and fill out the rest of the alphabet and numbers I would need. We went through several iterations, trying to find the most natural way to inforporate everything they wanted in the sign.
